Before Your Child Starts School
The Old Vicarage’s community spirit provides the girls with the security of feeling part of the ‘family’ while also encouraging parents to become involved in activities.
Your daughter and the other girls who will make up her class will be invited to the school in the summer term immediately prior to starting with us. During the visit she will meet with her Form Teacher and have the chance to become familiar with the school building and some of our routines. It often happens on visit days that girls make new friendships, which can be developed over the summer months to ease the transition into schooling.
On a separate occasion you and other parents will be invited to an evening meeting during which the Reception teachers will introduce themselves and explain the routines and expectations of the year. You will also be given the opportunity to purchase various items of equipment that will be needed.
