I enjoyed Juniper Hall the most. It was like a big sleepover. We had so much fun.

Residential Trips

Besides being tremendous fun, residential trips enrich the curriculum and are a great way of developing confidence and independence within a child. All the girls in the Upper School go on one residential trip during term time each year. The duration and location of the trip is gauged according to the age of the girls.

Year 3 – Juniper Hall

A two day trip. The girls learn about the environment around Box Hill, gain appreciation of the physical geography through landscape sketching and painting, develop compass reading skills and see how and why creatures camouflage themselves.

Year 4 – New Barn Centre, Dorset

A three day trip to experience life in an Iron Age settlement recreated on the site. The girls sample roundhouse living, grind flour and bake bread, churn butter, make and shape bricks and learn how Saxon villagers would have lived.

Year 5 – Frontier Centre near Northampton

This five day trip teaches the girls about themselves and requires that they undertake challenges individually and in teams. The activities are carefully designed to support character development and the ability to work with others.

Year 6 – Normandy

On this five or six day trip to a chateau in Normandy the girls are immersed in French life. They will use their French language skills extensively and visit important local sites to gain an understanding of the area’s history and society.
