Besides being tremendous fun, residential trips enrich the curriculum and are a great way of developing confidence and independence within a child. All the girls in the Upper School go on one residential trip during term time each year. The duration and location of the trip is gauged according to the age of the girls.
Year 3 – Juniper Hall |

| On this two day trip the girls learn about the environment around Box Hill, gain appreciation of the physical geography through landscape sketching and painting, develop compass reading skills and see how and why creatures camouflage themselves. |
Year 4 – New Barn Centre, Dorset |
This is a three day trip to experience life in an Iron Age settlement recreated on the site. The girls sample roundhouse living, grind flour and bake bread, churn butter, make and shape bricks and learn how Saxon villagers would have lived. |
Year 5 – Bushcraft Adventures |
On this four day trip, the girls learn bushcraft skills including shelter building in a 3000 year old wood in Oxfordshire. The activities are carefully designed to support character development and the ability to work with other. |
Year 6 – Normandy |
On this five or six day trip to a chateau in Normandy the girls are immersed in French life. They will use their French language skills extensively and visit important local sites to gain an understanding of the area’s history and society. |
