All our girls have music lessons taught by a specialist teacher. To begin with the recorder is the instrument of choice for the whole class, but we also have a network of visiting teachers providing tuition in a wide range of other instruments including the piano, flute, clarinet, guitar and saxophone.
There are numerous occasions during the year for the girls to perform in front of the school, to their parents and to the wider community. As a tradition, the Old Vicarage orchestra has opened the Richmond Fair for the past 38 years. Similarly, our main choir, which consists of girls from Years 4, 5 and 6, has sung with pupils from other schools at venues as diverse as the Royal Albert Hall and at the nearby retirement home.
All girls participate in weekly hymn practice and the annual carol service at our local church.
