Upper School
Our Upper School is for Years 3 to 6. Throughout this period the girls still have the security of a Form Teacher, whom they meet at the beginning of the day and who is responsible for the well-being of every child in their care. However, the individual subjects are taught by specialists, which ensures that each pupil is given the opportunity to achieve their best in every part of the curriculum.
These years are good preparation for senior school as the girls move from room to room for the specialist classes. Each girl has a timetable and so has to take personal responsibility for time-keeping and ensuring they have the correct books or sports equipment with them.
In Years 5 and 6 the girls are placed in two separate academic streams. These are allocated depending on whether the individual girl’s development will be best served by having either a greater challenge or by the provision of focused support and encouragement.
